"Werde #12teFrau" is a campaign by Audi and FC Bayern Frauen to increase the visibility of women’s football and strengthen fan culture around the team. The campaign combined sport, culture and illustration through limited edition visuals and merchandise created with female illustrators from Munich’s creative scene.
My Role
As one of the selected Munich based illustrators, I developed illustration assets and visual storytelling elements for the campaign communication. I created expressive visuals inspired by fan culture, movement and empowerment, supporting the campaign across digital and physical touchpoints. The illustrations were designed to feel bold, emotional and approachable, strengthening the connection between community, identity and women's football.

The ideation for the "12. Frau" campaign started analog — pen on paper in a reduced red, black and white palette, exploring themes around women’s football culture. Topics included sisterhood, the pay gap, period stigma and the constant scrutiny of women’s bodies..

The rough sketches evolved into patch-like illustrations with bold outlines, flat colours and an extended palette of pink, yellow and blue. Each motif stands on its own while referencing themes of empowerment, sisterhood and visibility in women’s football.
The loose, expressive character design preserved the energy of the sketches while giving the campaign a confident fan culture aesthetic.
